Associate Scientist
- Business Unit: Pharsight Consulting Services (PCS)
- Reports to: Director/Associate Director
- Location: Montreal, Canada
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform PK and PK/PD analyses using state-of-the-art methods and according to current regulatory requirements across various phases of drug development
- Perform analyses using one or more of the following methods: non-compartmental, compartmental, dose- and exposure-response modeling,, and population PK/PD modeling
- Devise and quality control SAS® (or similar) program codes to facilitate the construction of datasets (e.g. NONMEM, clinical datasets, SAS transport files, define.xml) in support of advanced PK/PD and statistical analyses
- Summarize safety and tolerability endpoint data through the creation of tables, figures and listings
- Write reports and provide interpretation of results suitable for submission to regulatory agencies
- Provide internal training to scientists and external training to clients
- Provide team leadership for other scientists performing PK/PD analyses, data interpretation, and reporting
- Assist in the development of work plans, ensuring that work is delivered on time and within budget in order to achieve business results for RAS
- Provide scientific/regulatory consultation for evaluation of dossier, reports and IND, due diligence, meetings with regulatory agencies, and consultation on drug development programs
- Provide team management by mentoring other Scientists responsible for PK/PD analyses, data interpretation, and reporting.
Education, Training and Expertise:
Any combination of education and experience providing the required skills and knowledge for successful performance will be considered. Typical qualifications would include:
- Bachelor’s, Masters, or PhD (or equivalent) in a specialty area such as Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmacology, Toxicology, Statistics, Mathematics or a related discipline
- Five or more years of experience in PK/PD analyses and reporting in various phases of drug development
Skills and Abilities:
- Experienced in the use and application of advanced PK/PD software such as WinNonlin®, IVIVC Toolkit, NONMEM®, SAS®, and S-PLUS®
- Experience in population PK/PD analysis, advanced modeling and simulation, or advanced statistical analysis is advantageous
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Good general knowledge of drug development process and a demonstrated knowledge of pharmacokinetics and pharmacology
