Using Pharsight® Trial Simulator™

Simulation Scenarios

The simulation scenarios feature of Trial Simulator makes it easy to test the impact of model assumptions and protocol design choices. Each simulation scenario is a variation on the study. Each scenario is assigned one value for selected drug model and protocol properties. For example, drug potency (EC50) and efficacy (Emax), and protocol enrollment size and participant age limits might be selected as properties, and assigned different values across scenarios.

Each scenario is simulated many times to estimate the distribution of potential outcomes. By exploring and analyzing simulation results over a range of assumptions and design parameters, the development team can pinpoint clinical trial designs that are optimized for robustness against uncertainties.
