Using Pharsight® Trial Simulator™

Trial Simulator Studies

The main entity for a Trial Simulator project is called a study. It is saved as a single file, which carries the .STD extension. Each study can have one or many associated result databases. Results for each simulation run are stored in one database. This database has the .MDB extension, and is readable by Microsoft® Access. Appropriately-equipped (ODBC-equipped) software can read Access database files even on machines on which Microsoft Access is not installed. Alternately, for enhanced performance and smaller databases, results can be saved to a binary output file for analysis in third-party software.

Trial Simulator organizes each study into seven functional modules, each represented by a different button in the study diagram shown above.
