SCS Capabilities — Examples of Applied Modeling Technologies

Adaptive Trial and Program Design

Adaptive trial and program design uses modeling and simulation, Bayesian methods and decision analysis to create flexible trial designs that use clinical information from patients as it becomes available during the trial or program.

Seamless phase I/II, II/III, adaptive dose-ranging and optimization, and adaptive powering are all techniques for increasing the value of particular stages of a development program. By adding decision analysis techniques, the decision to investigate new indications in a particular sequence can be made dynamically as trials proceed and results become available.

Benefits of adaptive trial and program design are more informative trials, increased confidence for decision-making, and faster time-to-market.
